Sia Tiambi Barnes brings diverse media experience as a writer and editor. She is a winner of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities 2010 Young Artist Program grant and was the only of this group selected as a Lead Artist for the Commission’s pilot program, “Media Arts Boot Camp” with the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program. She co-wrote and marketed the DC International Film Festival and Urbanworld Film Festival official selection feature film “Jazz in the Diamond District,” starring Wood Harris, Clifton Powell, Kenny Burns and popular go-go band, UnCalled 4 Experience. She has contributed as a features writer to the multicultural high-end lifestyle print, J’Adore magazine; HipHopWired.com, chronicling the journey of female emcees; the Washington Post/Newsweek.Interactive environmentally focused affiliate, Sprig.com; SOHH.com; Raw mixtape magazine; Floss magazine; and research for the Rolling Stone/Hyperion Press release “Bling Bling: Hip Hop’s Crown Jewels” by Minya Oh. She has produced, “The Scoop,” a daily music news column for Black Entertainment Television’s website (BET.com), and written and edited for “The Source” magazine.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology and is responsible for message development and creating integrated marketing communications strategies.

ADVISORS:

Z. H. Khenissi brings more than two decades of expertise as a business attorney in the public and private sectors. She has substantial experience in nonprofit development and organization, business program creation and development, public and private funding programs, and organizational management and governance. In addition, she offers   hands-on business experience in the restaurant and retail fashion industries, and creative inspiration from her hobbies as a painter, writer and filmmaker.

She is responsible for ensuring that our clients’ campaigns are based on thorough research and practical business premises.

Jafi O. Barnes brings a wide range of business skills gained through fifteen years of experience as an entrepreneur  in the beauty and fashion industries.  N’KOSI clients also benefit from his extensive networks in several major US cities including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta and Miami. He has planned and executed several social and political events, and volunteered his services to community programs and organizations such as the Clean and Pure Kids, Soccer Sisters Inc., and the Cedar Heights Community Center.

He is responsible for helping to shape and execute our clients’ business and marketing objectives.

Johnny Barnes brings his expertise on the federal and local legislative process and civil liberties. He has spent more than a quarter of a century in various Congressional staff positions, including service as Chief of Staff for two Members of Congress. He has taught law and college courses at area schools and has practiced law in the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.

He is responsible for ensuring that our clients’ campaigns are founded on principals that sustain human and civil rights.
